Great song! Every time I listen to it, I hear something new. My kids love it too so we all groove out when we hear it. Favorite lines: “O meets J”, the picture snap at “cheese”, and OF COURSE, ghost eats toast! Thank you for the fun!

  2. Alicia says:

Very peppy song – funny at the end about the ghost – I know my grandsons will like this, and I will play this for them next time we visit them down south. Cute, enjoyable song!

  3. Lorena says:

We LOVE this song!! I hope that you continue to create such brilliance. <3

  4. Doug says:

Straight up, this song is BRILLIANT! We would love to know the story behind the accent, specifically, the pronunciation of BRAKE-fahst… and don’t say “mmmmm, don’t ask.” Keep up the good work Mike!

    • Mike Phirman says:

Thanks, Doug! I heard someone pronounce it “BRAKE-fahst” on a cruise that I was working on in the Caribbean, and I immediately wanted to say it like that 1,000,000,000 times. (I asked “BREK-fist” if that was ok, and it said it totally understood.) Glad you guys like it!

This is our new favorite song on Kid’s Place Live! I love when kids’ songs are enjoyable for adults as well, and my kids have started asking for “bleck-fost” every morning – with toast, of course.

    • Mike Phirman says:

Those are my two goals: (1) to change the way people pronounce the words for meals (LA-wonch is coming next (just kidding (although…)), and (2) to give you guys a good time without anyone’s sanity being hurt. So glad you like it—Thank you!

  6. Russell says:

The sausage line…”Don’t ask!” Best line of the whole song. Then my kid asked what’s in sausage. Uh oh…

    • Mike Phirman says:

Thanks! I’ll tell you, in an early version of the song, the big long list of animals at the end finished with “…make sausage for the breakfast!”, but I thought that might be a little more of a bummer than it is funny. (Especially if there’s a video some day.) “Mmmm… Don’t ask!” felt like a more fun way to make the same joke. Glad you like it!

  7. Ben says:

My son and I were JAMMIN’ to this last night after his soccer practice. He was cracking up about it for hours after… Most fun thing I’ve heard on Kids Place Live in a while.

    • Mike Phirman says:

Thank you, Ben! I can’t TELL you how great that is to read (because you’re miles away in a different room, so instead, I’ll write it). That is so great to read! It’s why I do it, so thank you for sharing that. JAM ON! (singers: “your toast!”) JAM ON! (singers: “your toast!”)…

My kids and i heard this for the first time tonight on kids place live. We had to rewind it and listen twice. Then we looked it up as soon as we got home. We all agree this song NEEDS a video! Thanks for the laughs and keep up the craziness. 🙂

    • Mike Phirman says:

Thank you! I’m glad to hear you say that, because a video is coming! (as soon as possible) It will probably feature some breakfast foods. Thanks again!

  9. Shannon says:

We favorited your song in our car and when it comes on we all dance silly and sing along!! My son has demanded that we listen every morning while eating our break-fahst!! Cannot get enough!! Thank you for entertaining my brood!!

  10. Marc & Family says:

Mike, caught this song on Kids Place Live and my sons were cracking up. Bought it on iTunes and now they love getting there groove on with a dance party in the living room to this song. Their older sisters love, also mom and even grandma! The writing time you put into it really paid off. Great work! I’m so glad there are people in the world making entertainment like this! Thank you!

  11. Sean Bachthaler says:

My 7 year old son, Sean, and my 3 year old, Jason, love singing along! Of course, now I have to ask them on the weekends, “What would you like for the Brake-fahst!” (It’s usually waffles!!!) Keep up the great work!

  12. Music City Mom says:

Randomly turned on Kids Place Live, and this song was the first thing we heard. LOVED IT!!! My eight-year old is constantly singing new things about the “BRAKE-fahst”, and I felt compelled to search it out so he can listen whenever he wants. Best “feel-good” tune in a long time. Great for kids, but I love it, too. Makes me want some…BRAKE-fahst! Sweet tune, Mr. Phirman.

  13. Kathy says:

Thank you for this awesome song! My son Nicholas and I love this one and of course I now have to ask him what he wants for the brake-fast every day! And even better, his summer project for 2nd grade is about food chains so guess which song is being diagramed into food chains and food webs????

  14. This song is a true masterpiece. Endless ear candy and so many great lines.

  15. Lily McGinley says:

My kids and I adore this song, it’s absolutely the best! We do have a question though. The little voice who asks about gravity making granola and farmer making cheese…is he a ghost? He sounds so devastated when he’s told the ghost eats nothing for the breakfast. And then so delighted when that is amended to getting toast. We figured out that he himself must be a ghost, and thus all the emotions. We went looking for the music video to confirm our suspicions & were crushed to not find one (there should really be one 🙂 ). So I’m coming straight to the source.

Also, we assume the Sugar Free All Stars are fans of this song as well, since in Monster Truck, they mention that monster trucks eat “strawberry pancakes for THE breakfast”.

  16. Taffy Dugan says:

Heard this song on Kids Place Live via XM. We immediately fell in love with it – so funny!! It’s my family’s new favorite song! Thank you for making us laugh so hard!

  17. Dan Moulding says:

Is this *still* one of the best kids songs around? Is it enjoyable even for the grownups? Weeeeeeeellll….. YES!
